WASH/NUTRITION
Specific Objective
Improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities and promote good nutrition practices among vulnerable populations, particularly children and women.
ACTIVITIES
Conduct Community HH WASH/Nutrition Assessment (MUAC) for Children, Pregnant Women in HHs
Linkage of MAM & SAM to Health Centers for Out-patient Treatment centers (OTC) and Inpatient Treatment Centers (ITC).
Implement nutrition education and counseling program in 15 sub-counties/ divisions
Conduct Pre trigger and Trigger sessions on sanitation Improvement in villages and follow up of HHs with um improved and no Latrines for Sanitation Improvement
Rehabilitate latrines and promote proper waste disposal
Conduct hygiene promotion campaigns in sub-counties/divisions of greater jinja.
Distribute hygiene materials (soap, toothbrushes, etc.) vulnerable households.
Establish handwashing stations and promote handwashing practices in Trading centres of villages in jinja.
Inspection of Water Sources and Capacity building of Water and Sanitation Committees.
Rehabilitate boreholes, wells, and water storage facilities.
Install water treatment systems and distribute water purification tablets households
Conduct annual Training workshops for Jinja DWSCC members on WASH Governance
Support Quarterly meeting with DWSCC members, including district/City officials, NGOs, and community representatives.
